What is Aged Care?
Aged care services help older Australians live safely and independently in their own homes for as long as possible. Government-funded aged care support is available through the Home Care Package (HCP) program and the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).
These programs are designed to be flexible and person-centred — the support you receive is based on your individual needs and goals, so you can continue living the life you choose.

Community Access
Support to get out and about — attending appointments, social activities, shopping, and staying connected with family and friends.
Companionship
Friendly, genuine companionship for older Australians who benefit from regular social interaction and a familiar, caring presence.
Aged Care Funding Programs
Home Care Package (HCP)
A government-subsidised package of care services to help you live independently at home. Packages range from Level 1 (basic) to Level 4 (high care needs). You choose your provider and how your funds are used.
Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
Entry-level support for older Australians who need a small amount of assistance to stay independent at home. Services are subsidised and you contribute a small co-payment.
Self-Managed
You manage your own aged care funds and choose your own providers. We invoice you directly, giving you full flexibility and control over your support.
Provider-Managed
Your Home Care Package provider manages your funds on your behalf and coordinates services with us. We work directly with your provider to arrange and invoice for support.
Private / Self-Funded
You don't need a government package to access our services. We welcome private clients who prefer to arrange and pay for support directly, with no waiting lists.
Am I Eligible for Aged Care Support?
Government-funded aged care services are generally available to Australians aged 65 and over (or 50 and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people). To access a Home Care Package or CHSP services, you will need an assessment through My Aged Care.
